MidEast Shares Mixed

Middle East shares were mixed, with Saudi stocks rising on company news. Saudi Indian Co for Cooperative Insurance (Wafa) said it had received “temporary and conditional” approval from the central bank to sell some of its professional liability insurance policies. Egypt’s index slumped after U.S. sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday Washington had decided to deny Egypt $95.7 million in aid and to delay a further $195 million because of its failure to make progress on respecting human rights and democratic norms.

Saudi Arabia’s main index firmed 0.1% to 7,264 points, Dubai rose 0.4% to 3,625 points, Abu Dhabi edged up 0.3% to 4,487 points, Qatar dipped 0.1% to 9,054 points, Egypt slid 0.9% to 12,996 points, Kuwait eased 0.1% at 6,922 points, Bahrain dropped 0.2% to 1,305 points and Oman shed 0.3% to 4,955 points.
